A Treat That Leaves You Hungry

For all the wonderful emails and comments I've been receiving, I thought I would give you guys a special little un-edited treat.  I know we still have a while to go on Dan and Rowe yet but...*smile*...I couldn't help myself.  So without anymore babble, I give you this....

After applying a slow swirl of tinted balm around his lips, Isaac leaned forward and set the tube down—rubbing his lips together and letting go with a pop.  Pushing his long brown hair out of his face, he picked up the stick of eyeliner and expertly outlined his eyes.  Nanette lounged on the side of the dressing table and finished painting her nails with a deep blue.  She flicked her dark eyes to Isaac and sighed dramatically. 

“Do your guardents know you’re going out with us?” The last thing Nanette needed was Cade and Micah all up her ass for ruining their already sinful child.  “Izzy why don’t you just tell them?  I mean you are an adult and they have to realize it some time. Or is it actually you that doesn’t want to them to realize it?” Nanette leaned forward and tapped Isaac’s nose.  “You’ll never find what you’re looking for all alone in the dark,” she ended with a chilling whisper.

Eyeing King and Chloe’s daughter with narrowed eyes, Isaac stood and walked to stand between her legs.  “I like the dark and so do you.” He leaned in and put his hands to either side of her head—splaying his black lacquered fingers.  “That’s why we get along so well Nan.  So don’t be a bitch. Fuck them, tonight I’m not the weakling son of the Original and his mate.  Tonight, I’m Izzy and I just wanna dance.”

Nan grabbed the black leather thong that was peeking out of Isaac’s Ziploc tight pants and pulled until he gasped.  “Is that all you wanna do?  Then what’s this pretty boy?”

“Now you’re being a bitch again,” Isaac said and slapped her hand away.  “What if that isn’t all I plan on doing?  You gonna run and tell the guardents that their good for nothing son plans on getting some tonight?”

“Whoa what? Izzy I was just joking…” Nanette pushed Isaac back and grabbed his face between her hands.  “Look at me.  I’m being serious Isaac, don’t just go to some club and give that away.”

Averting his eyes from Nan’s, Isaac pulled out of her grasp and went to his closet.  “I’m done waiting around for something that isn’t going to happen Nan.  I’m twenty three and I’m the only virgin in this fucking hell hole.”

Shaking her shoulder length hair in frustration, Nanette stormed over to the closet and grabbed his arm.  “This isn’t some teenage romantic comedy Isaac! This is your life and just because everyone around you does it, doesn’t mean that it was all flowers and sunshine.   You only get the once Isaac and everything after that is just…after that.”

“What’s with you?  You sleep with everyone and you preaching to me about staying sacred?” Isaac pulled a black ribbed tank over his slim figure and marched past her.

“Did you just call me a slut?” Nanette went still trying to decide what hurt worse.  The fact that he called her a slut or the fact that she knew he meant it.

Isaac looked at his sharp blue eyes in the mirror and saw his own regret.  Turning to his best girlfriend to apologize, Isaac discovered his room otherwise empty and his door ajar.  Fuck, he stomped his foot in growing anger and stepped into his haphazardly tied, white Docs. “Nan!” He shouted before he stepped out of his room and walked around the bend of the hall.  He could still smell her dark perfume lingering in her wake as he stomped down the hall with the jingle of his many bangle bracelets.  “Oh come on Nan! I didn’t mean it.”

“If you’re gonna try that excuse with me, you better think harder you lazy little brat.  Where the hell have you been?” Isaac stiffened before turning around slowly.  Knox stood there with his arms crossed over his massive chest and a look that could probably send you straight to hell with just a blink.  Fuck no, Isaac groaned in his head.  He’d skipped sparring because he just couldn’t take Knox for one more damn day.  The giant asshole was grinding on his last nerve and he’d decided to take the night off and go out for once.  “Uh, hello? Talking to you here.  Look at me damn it!” Knox growled.

“No,” Isaac hissed and kept his eyes down.

“What the fuck did you just say to me?”

“I said no,” Isaac voiced louder and looked up with narrowed eyes. 

“Oh, you picked the wrong night to go around with me you little shit.  I’m already torqued that you wasted my time and Blaze is late.  Now this,” Knox sneered and took a step forward.

“What’s wrong Knox?” Isaac suddenly grew a pair because the name Blaze stroked an unholy rage inside of him.  “Your little boyfriend late for your leather bound party?”

Knox stared at Isaac and felt his eyelids drying from how wide his eyes were.  The rail thin beauty’s eyes locked on Knox with a hellish hold and a sinister smile quirked at his lips.  “You better watch that mouth Isaac Hightower before I…”

“There you are.  I said I’d be downstairs, not late,” Blaze called as he walked into a stand-off.  Isaac took one look at the red haired slut and fisted his hands behind his back to keep from screaming.  Blaze shot a questioning look at Knox and then smiled at Isaac.  “Ready?”

“No, give us a minute. Isaac and I need to have a chat.” Knox shook off the hand that slipped over his shoulder.  “Please.”

Blaze yawned for purely dramatic purposes and flicked his hand in boredom at Isaac. “I’ll be downstairs…again.”

“Better go with him before he gets tag teamed by the night watch.  Wouldn’t want your little slut to get dirty.” Isaac smiled.

“Isaac what the fuck?” Knox lost his anger and started to concentrate on the serious change in Isaac Hightower. He looked the same—waft like figure, healthy glow and now? That meek, lovely boy that failed to fight like a man had grown some titanium encased balls and was spouting shit like he knew a thing or two.  “You feel okay…are you hot or…”

“Don’t you fucking touch me!” Isaac screamed and shook from head to toe. 

“Izzy?” Nan hadn’t run far and even if Isaac had called her a slut, when she heard him screaming, she couldn’t help but come running.  They were there for each other…slut or not.

“Get me out of here, now!” Isaac cringed and Nan grabbed his shaking shoulders--shooting Knox a look at pure hatred before heading down the hall. 

Knox flexed the ache from his trembling hands and cursed a few times to the empty hall before turning the other way and going to find Blaze.  Fuck Isaac Hightower, Knox thought.  But isn’t that exactly what he wanted….
